✓ GREEN PACKAGING PROMISEHello! I am Mel, illustrator, visual creator, and author of the botanical universe of Melo Art. Born in Argentina, I found in Portugal — dividing my days and work between Ovar and the canals of Aveiro — my sanctuary and workbench.
My artistic craft breathes to the tempo of the piano (I am a music teacher), the warmth of poetry and analog photography, and the meticulous rigor of my academic background in Law and International Trade. It is this rare confluence of poetic imagination and professional diligence that enables me to dissolve every barrier between a tentative idea and an enduring physical creation.
We do not believe in mass-producing disposable trinkets for forgotten shelves. Everything born of our hands is crafted to inhabit homes, books, and hearts with lasting tenderness.
We refuse plastic bubble wrap and petroleum tape. Every package is protected with recycled kraft paper, lavender-scented tissue, and cornstarch water-activated tape.
✓ GREEN PACKAGING PROMISEOur Melo Pets and 3D sculptures are printed from plant-based Bio-PLA filament in our studio, free of toxic resins or fumes. Hand-painted with fine watercolor, pure pigments, and a velvety matte sealant.
✓ SUSTAINABLE BOTANICAL FILAMENTOur thank-you notes and adoption certificates are embedded with wildflower and cantaloupe seeds. Tuck the paper into soil, water gently, and watch living blossoms sprout on your windowsill.
✓ REAL WILDFLOWERS FOR BEESPeople often arrive at the studio saying: "I have a seed of an idea for a children's book, or a character for my brand, or a cherished memory to turn into a sculpture... but I cannot draw, and I do not know the technical terms."
My answer is always the same: you do not need to know how to draw, nor do you need to understand 3D topology or CMYK color profiles. That is my craft. Your role is simply to tell me what you feel, the story you wish to convey, or the purpose of your project.
At Melo Art, your idea travels naturally: from the very first graphite sketch at my desk between Ovar and Aveiro, to the piano harmonies I play to shape the mood of the piece, through digital sculpting and 3D printing in eco-filament, all the way to archival cotton rag paper. We create together, side by side, with dependable milestones and genuine artisan care.
One spring afternoon, while walking along the shores of the Ria de Aveiro between traditional moliceiro boats and sunlit salt pans, I found a little cantaloupe seed resting on a weathered wooden bench.
I reached for my sketchbook and traced the first lines: what if a tiny seed held the wide-eyed curiosity of a gentle child, soft sprout wings, and the fragrance of wild lavender? That was the moment Melo opened its eyes on paper for the very first time.
Today, Melo is our official mascot and the guardian spirit of everything we make: from children's books to numbered collectible sculptures.
Between the analog and the digital: genuine bristle brushes, sculpting tools, and drawing displays where the gentle tones of the Ria de Aveiro come alive.
No idea jumps straight to a screen. Everything begins with soft graphite marks, tea stains, and doodles on heavyweight paper.
Atmospheric photography of Aveiro's canals serves as inspiration for blending whimsical beings with warm, buttery textures.
From an isolated sketch to complete narrative spreads for children's publishers and limited fine art prints.
Whether you represent a publisher, have a storybook in the making, or wish to commission a bespoke sculpture, the Aveiro atelier door is always open.
