ILLUSTRATION COMMISSIONS & INTELLECTUAL PROPERTY
3.1 Moral & Exploitation Rights Ownership
All original artwork, illustrations, character designs, and concepts created by Melo Art remain the inalienable moral property of artist Melina Amarilla (Melo). Commissioning an artwork grants the buyer an agreed usage license, but does not transfer copyright or original master ownership.
Personal home display and social sharing with creator credit (@meloart.pt) is warmly welcomed. Commercial resale, merchandising without license, or NFT minting is strictly prohibited.
Governed by formal licensing contracts detailing print runs, media usage (packaging, book covers, editorial publication), and territorial distribution.
3.2 Creative Methodology & Revision Rounds
To ensure artistic harmony and timely delivery, every commission follows three distinct development phases:
- Phase 1 (Rough Concept Sketch): Validation of posture, composition, and visual narrative. Includes up to 2 rounds of structural adjustments.
- Phase 2 (Linework & Color Palette): Finalization of ink work and botanical hues. Minor color tweaks included.
- Phase 3 (Final Art & Asset Delivery): Master exports in 300 DPI CMYK and sRGB (TIFF, Vector PDF, transparent PNG). Major structural revisions at this stage incur a 30% reworking fee.
3.3 Studio Portfolio & Public Display
The studio reserves the right to exhibit commissioned artwork across its portfolio and channels, unless a formal Non-Disclosure Agreement (NDA) has been agreed upon.

At Melo Art, we strictly reject generative AI in final commissioned art. Every piece is drawn freehand with human soul, care, and analog feeling.
